Eve Finally Cancels Clothing Line Concept!!

After years of being in an off and on relationship with her clothing line; Eve has finally decided to give it a rest! I think this sucks because I actually liked some of the Fetish line, and believe it had great potential. In particular, there were some very good purse designs. Sooo what's next for the star..Well she is going to focus more on her music and acting. Can't knock the hustle right?!?!?!

Tonight's Real Housewives of Atlanta

Ok so I watched the show tonight, and don't like Kim. I know NeNe is not perfect but Kim is a classic opportunist. This bish knew all along she was supposed to that song with NeNe, and when she saw she sounded worth a crap well... She did what any fake bish would do!! Bye NeNe..I'm a star!! LOL! NeNe could have handled the initial confrontation better but hey it could have been worse. I'm still feeling out Lisa because she can come off kind of fake. Other than that she seem cool. Sheree has definitely calmed down this season. She is a lot more humble. Lastly Kandi probably won't make it to next season! She is toooo nice, and just like Deshawn she's gotta go. I hate its like that but homegirl's story line isn't that interesting for reality tv. If you notice we are seeing less and less of her scenes. Luvs the show...watch it every Thursday 9pm central time. If you're "tardy for the party" just DVR it or catch the replay right after the premiere.

Rain..Rain..Go AWay!!

What's up Dolls....
Juicy Couture, Neiman Marcus.com

 Coach Rain Boot, coach.com

Lacoste Rain Boots, zappos.com

It has been raining like cats and dogs this past week or so. So I found it fitting to mention RainBoots....in my blog today. They are really cute and I suppose help you manage the weather. This is a fun shoe and I do not believe this should be worn in a professional setting. I'm on a college campus everyday, so I see these shoes a lot. There are high, medium, and even low versions. When I went shopping, I did see a very cute pair made by Lacoste and they were reasonably priced. Juicy Couture makes a more expensive yet stylish version. another style that I love is the Coach style. However, be careful because this can be a cliche' due to the fact that everyone buys this brand.  I would pair them with a skinnier jean because a bulky jean can look sloppy. So I encourage you to join in on the rain-boot trend because there are so many styles; you are bound to find something that suits you.

Gossip Girl Fashion

Okay sooo who watches "Gossip Girl"? Well maybe you should start especially if you enjoy fashion. These girls are ones to watch when it comes to new styles and incorporating quirky styles.

I love how Leighton Meester looks totally different from the character she plays on the show. If you check her out in regular photos, she dresses real rockstar chic. Blair, the character she plays, is very prim and proper. In college she is having to adjust to change and either own who she is or try out a new style. I personally would like to see her embrace a certain era of fashion. For instance maybe the seventies would provide a dramatic backdrop for her style.

WTF?? is wrong with her??? I love whoever dresses her for the show...but umm who is this chick's stylist is REAL life!!! Taylor is doing the most with this new punk rocker chic look. Ladies you can still do this and remain polished!!

Don't you just loveeeeee an insanely large purse!

Kooba Laced Front Leather Hobo

I'm a stickler for larger purses. They carry a lot and add that drama that I love within my wardrobe. I enjoy purses that have braided detail, studs, and maybe funky colors. I believe it is key to get a very good material because for the average female purses are carried daily. You want to have something that will withstand your mayhem! Feel like material and make sure it is strong and resilient. Also try to take a look at the fall of the bag. When I say the fall, I mean the way it hangs on your shoulder. Pay attention to this when you are wearing a coat and a light t-shirt. You don't want anything uncomfortable on your shoulder all day. I like a lot of inside pockets to hold my randomness, and secure closers so my items are safe. Ladies just be aware a good purse is the key to a good day since we spend 99% of the time looking for our keys in them!

Key Investments for the Fall/Winter

Spiegal Platform Booties

Marc Fisher Keyon boots

 Christian Louboutin Peep Toe Bootie

Okay as you all know the cold months are approaching and I want to highlight some of my key essentials.  First you guys are going to need at least two signature coats. One classic trench or peacoat that dresses up any outfit. The thing that I like about coats is that they add character to an outfit. In the summer your outfit is forced to fend for itself. Trenches can look good with a wide leg pant and a dressy shirt. This is something I would definitely wear to a meeting or to an art gallery. The peacoat is still dressy but is kind near the dress down side. You can pair a peacoat with knee high boats without appearing too overdone.
Another essential would be boots of course!! They come in all shapes, forms , and fashions. You can go totally classic or really rock star and still be in trend. My favorites are the the fierce colored booties and the flat knee high boots. I would probably go in the direction of Jessica Simpson since she is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!
Scarves are still key so grab them in any color, texture, or size. This only adds to the ensemble as layering is key for this season. Layering is going to play a part in my next essential which is the relaxed cardigan. I called it this because they have no buttons and fit loose around the body. These are good for those relaxed days and even the more casual days.

Hautelanta Fashion Week

Ok so I'm doing my fashion duties at Hautelanta Fashion Week, and as I promised I've got updates. It started off a little slow, but I do believe that was due to the rain last night. Backstage is super busy of full of great talent.  I really enjoyed the finale and the very beginning. To all my up and coming industry friends, its a great place to show off your skills. They let you put promo material in the gift bags. The venue was very lush and I loved it.There was also some choreographed entetainment that was haute!! The actual show was great and people should check out the rest. My BB was o the fritz sooo no interviews but I'm ready 2night though!!! Check out the pics...will be back 2morrow with more updates.

Make Your Wardrobe Worthwhile - wikiHow

Make Your Wardrobe Worthwhile - wikiHow

I think its about that time!!!

Two of my favorite girls made some questionable fashion mistakes this past weekend. This is a clear cut example of too much of a good thing. A little sequin here or there and hey maybe a little animal print! These chicas are killing me with the "I just want to put it all on" concept. Ladies when you decide to go for something over the top, you want to downplay it with something normal. When I say normal, I mean you don't wear animal print all over. Instead you go with an animal print shoe, jacket, or even a handbag. These items can add a little spice to an otherwise bland outfit. Rihanna had me with the shades but from the neck down; its a mess. Oh wait...I like the shoes too. She should or her stylist should have chosen either the pants or the shirt but not both! She was already over the top with the shades and fly shoes. You know you have to add a little more since it's Rihanna but dang. Ladies and  Gents let this be a lesson, you can't even getaway with this in the bright lights. Maybe the words "Fashion Week" and "Award Show"  make people go a little crazy ( i.e Kanye )...ok ok I"m going to make that my last Kanye joke.

VMA Fashion Hits and Misses

Well after my gushing over Amber Rose, my fierce doll has made a fashion misstep. To put it mildly she looks a mess. She appears to be trying too hard, and the animal print ALL OVER is just a hot stripper mess. Miss Rose there is a very fine line between Rebel Chic and too much. She needs to break up the pattern with something more single toned. Her counterpart ,Kanye, well looks equally bad. I do believe the Henny got to him long before he got to the awards. This is a sure MISS!!!

I've said it once and I'll say it again Cassie is coming on up in the fashion game. Homegirl was looking fierce and quite rebellious last night. Watch out RI-RI!!!! I love the way the shoes pop against the outfit and that hairstyle just sets it all off.

Is it okay for me to say that I don't really like this? Ok because I really don't like this, the designs on the shoulder is too much. The fabric looks cheap and she surely could have saved those earrings!! I have seen Keri look wayyyyyyy better  and I generally love her style. However, last night was kind of a bad night for Keri..sorry doll this just doesn't work.

Does Beyonce look like a mannequin to anyone? However, I do love the dress and the jewelry. I'm not a big fan of the extremely plain face she's been giving us lately but overall this is a good look. Everybody seemed to be trying out the deep cleavage last night.

Djimon looks very debonaire next to Ms. Kimora Lee. I love how he went classic instead of going for the all too familiar rock star that all the men are doing. The pink just highlights his dark complexion and I die for those shoes!!!

WTF?!?!?! You guys be the judge because I'm speechless!! No I could actually go on for days but I don't have time for that!! LOL!!

I DIE For Fashion this week!!!

* Okay Kerin-Rose is on it ladies and gents...See I love crazy sunglasses and this girl makes some funky glasses. These are available for pre-order on her website or about $ 350.00. Here Rihanna is rocking them to a degree that says " I don't give a PHUCK" what you say about me..I"m a Rockstar honey."

* I know this is not totally new but I admire her for sticking with this look and making it hot. It takes a certain personality and overall swag to be able to pull this look off. Say what you want but fashion-wise she is on her game.

*I simply DIE..over Gwen Stefani's new collection. The way she designed everything to look so stylish yet easy to wear gives me chills. Anyone who knows me, knows that this look is right down my alley. I'm going to have to pay a little bit more attention to this line from now on. Her shoes are FAB as well.. Go L.A.M.B!!!

Layering

Okay dolls today I want to give a little insight to layering. Layering comes in all shapes and forms. When I say this I mean you can layer clothing or jewelry. One thing you don't want to do is go overboard because it can come off as messy. Now I do believe in the fact that you can never layer too much jewelry.
When layering shirts for instance, my advice is to start with the more form fitting shirt first. You may want to try a cami or wife beater. Next you can go with a loose-fitting t-shirt or tank. My personal favorite is the racerback, eighties style tank. The pockets are loose and it falls off your shoulder often. Now you can go with a coat of any style or you can go "Rachel Zoe" and add a faux fur vest for drama. For a bit more flair you can go for a hippie chic headband or a nice cocktail ring. Jewelry is my favorite thing to layer. Sometimes I mix my costume jewelry with my real diamonds or I keep using old pieces until well NEVER!! These things give personality to your outfit and are just plain chic.

* This blog will be available on Lush 1986 TV for visuals and instructions :)

Good News!!

Although I have not had the pleasure of attending NYC Fashion Week; I have been fortunate enough to get an internship with Atlanta Fashion Week. I am super excited and will keep you guys updated with blog updates and pics :)

Store Reviews

So the other day I had a little time on my hands and decided to venture into some stores on campus. Normally, I only bother with Ellie's because I just love their sunglasses but I figured I'd give the others a try. My first stop was at a new store called " Therapy".  The design of the store was very nice and it was cozy. However, there was only one sales girl and the prices were high. I do not have a problem paying top dollar for top dollar goods. However, when I looked at the labels; they did not match up with the prices. I simply hate when a boutique carries unknown brands and tries to charge an arm and a leg for them. The only thing I recognized was the Prvcy jeans. They also made a colossal mistake by putting their store a few doors down from a more established "Behind the Glass". My advice would be to either move the store or upgrade your product!!!

Behind the Glass has grown over the years. I admire how they carry everything from Seven for All Mankind to Steve Madden. Now this is a store I can shop in because I see my money going to reputable designers. Now don't get me wrong; I am okay with unknown designers but not with the prices of a known designer. They also had enough sales staff to accommodate all of their customers. The fabrics seemed good on their higher end merchandise and I dare say worth the purchase. The accessories were up to date and priced on a college student budget.

My final assessment is that I think the newer stores on the block should step it up!! You are competing with stores that have been around for years. At least offer merchandise that is not available at the store next door. I think for now, I'm going to stick with the oldies but goodies.....Behind the Glass..The Buzz.. and my personal favorite due to my love of accessories Ellie's.

7 for All Mankind

I did a little shopping at Lenox Mall this weekend, and got the chance to look in the 7 for All Mankind store.  First off it's amazing to touch a GOOD jean because the fabric is not as hard and it's stretchy. This is what I might consider an investment jean since they start off at about $170. Do make sure that you are near you ideal size before you buy these. There are several people selling counterfeit Sevens but you can tell the difference once you handle a real pair. Just saying this to say....try them out and see if you like them!! You can also get them locally at Behind the Glass in Auburn, AL.
