A NeW PlACE to ShOP

I'm always on the prowl for new merchandise and places to enhance my closet. Just the other day, I decided to click on a random link and found this http://www.80spurple.com. Its a great little e-boutique that offers stylish yet affordable clothing. One of favorite pieces  was the chains of love tank, which retails for $46. I have not had the chance to shop there yet, but the appear to have pieces that reflect what most people are wearing. I absolutely love the designs, and the website is cute too. I'm about to order something and I'll be sure to let you guys know how it goes!!!

Miley's Boots!!

I love these boots! They have that fearlessness I always speak of. It's kind of like " Yeah I'm different, and sooooo what! " The boots are rough  but have the almost oxymoron of embellishments on the sides.  You would not put "worn" with "embellishment" normally!!!! That's what I love about them, and the fact that she abides by my cardinal rule of not going overboard on her other items. Buy these boots by Frye @ shopbop.com for $648...Don't worry Reccessionistas I'm sure Steve Madden will come out with a budget friendly version VERY soon!!!

Keepin the Eighties Alive

Okay, I do believe in eighties wear! Some people play it out but if add the right elements your look will look effortlessly chic! I like to throw in little things like funky sunglasses, an oversized tee, and of course my leggings. Right now I'm sporting the heavy bangs and loads of bangles. Another thing I live by is extreme shoes because they add to an otherwise plan outfit! You may get a lot of stares but trust its because they wish they could be brave like you. The eighties was a time of adding personality now known as swagg to your outfits. So if you have certain fearlessness about your closet...work it out!!!!

* Minus the big hair....I HEart this OuTFiT..oh yeah and extreme makeup!!

In my shopping bags

On one of my many shopping excursions I picked up some good finds. My goal is to be a smart shopper but I did go overboard with the sunglasses this time :) I also found a sick pair of Adidas, that remind me of Kanye West. They are literally silver with bold white accents near the base. I got them for $20 in my secret location.  I would encourage my readers to go to Old Navy simply because they offer good sales. They are also good at providing you that basic T-shirt or simple shoe you need. Those items come in handy when you want to layer or just be comfortable. I am also a fan of TJMaxx and Plato's Closet because they offer me the thrill of the chase. There are various smart finds that will enlarge your closet. If you go to a Plato's in a larger city, you are bound to find some good pieces. Remember its all about shopping smart!

Hippie Headbands: A No or A Go!

I questioned this trend from the moment I flipped through the fresh pages of People Stylewatch! It all seemed very"dress up". However, while making my rounds on campus I noticed a few or two girls rocking the look excellently. Just the right amount of hippie chic and you can come out cute. The headband comes off to me as if you didn't try hard ( but we know you did ). They look better paired with a rather casual outfit not something dressy. You can purchase these infamous head bands ( a la' Mishca Barton or Nicole Richie ) at Claires, Aldo, or even Walmart.  I'm going to go ahead and give this trend my stamp of approval.

Hall of Stylisto

JoJo Simmons have evolved from baggy everything to having some finesse about his closet. He is my first pick for Stylisto based on how far he's come fashion wise.

What's New to the Scene

I wouldn't say that they are exactly new to the scene...in fact I'd call them an oldie but goodie! However, they've got a new approach to design that I'm loving. Incorporating everything from liquid leggings to candy colored jackets! They seem to have kept the same zest for the eighties but choose to put in certain colors and new textures. My personal favorite is the black liquid legging. I would be lying if I said I didn't own at least 3 pairs :) Their line encompasses a feeling of bad-assness ( if that's a word LoL!!). They are now developing more levels with the company. This is to include t-shirts, dresses, and denim. Shop this company @ http://www.memberonlystyle.com/
